Core Themes

Treasure Valley Community College has identified three core themes that individually reflect essential elements of the College's mission, while collectively encompassing its full scope. Together, these core themes provide a framework for assessing institutional effectiveness, and advancing the College's commitment to student success, access, and community engagement.

1. Fostering Educational Success: The Core Theme of Fostering Educational Success provides a systematic method for measuring student learning and achievement, ensuring that student outcomes are assessed regularly, and that the institution can evaluate its effectiveness in supporting student success.

2. Ensuring Access: The Core Theme of Ensuring Access promotes equitable access to quality education and opportunities for student success. By identifying and addressing barriers to educational attainment, the College works to reduce achievement gaps among first-generation college students, underrepresented students of color, and economically disadvantaged students, thereby advancing equity, and improving student outcomes.

3. Building Our Community: The Core Theme of Building Our Community promotes positive impact and engagement both within the College, and throughout the communities it serves. This theme focuses on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff while strengthening partnerships and contributing to the educational, social, and economic well-being of the broader community.
